RMAN High-Power Aluminum Nitride Substrate Chip Resistors from Stackpole PIO | DigiKey

Stackpole's RMAN series uses aluminum nitride substrates to deliver higher power density than standard alumina chip resistors. Stackpole's RMAN series thick-film chip resistors use aluminum nitride substrates instead of standard alumina, taking advantage of significantly higher thermal conductivity. This allows the RMAN series to deliver 2.4 W in a compact 1206 package and 3.4 W in a 2512 package while keeping hot-spot and terminal temperatures within safe limits, a power density difficult to achieve with conventional alumina-based high-power chips. The resistors are available in 1% and 5% tolerances with a 150 ppm/°C temperature coefficient, and they are RoHS and REACH compliant and halogen-free. The RMAN series suits designers who need higher power handling in the same board footprint without moving to a different resistor technology.
