In summary, this training module has been developed to provide a framework on how to think about the Internet of Things. While there have been Machine to Machine available for quite while, what is new is the increased availability of connectivity and applications to allow new uses for the M2M data. In it’s most simple form, the Internet of Things (IoT) consists of three elements: sensors and devices (M2M) which are data and devices communicating to each other and delivering data, data and connectivity transporting the data to a database and people and processes which consist of a system or person who uses the data to make a decision about action.
