When it comes to energy storage there are two preferred types of devices: capacitors and batteries and each has advantages. For example EDLC’s can deliver bursts of current for a short time leaving a need for longer discharge times. Lithium-Ion batteries deliver lower levels of current for a longer period of time leaving the need for larger amounts of current to be delivered for longer periods of time. This presentation will discuss EDLC’s and Li-Ion batteries. Until now there was no product that could do both. The SLB bridges the gap between batteries and EDLC’s. It has characteristics of both.
