SLB has advantages over EDLC’s and Li-Ion batteries. Starting with the advantages over EDLC’s, the SLB has a higher rated voltage and a larger energy density. The SLB is almost six times larger than an EDLC. Now compare the SLB to Li-Ion batteries, the SLB has a power density three times larger than a Lithium-Ion battery. The SLB has a lower operating temperature and most importantly it can withstand 20,000 charge/discharge cycles. This is almost seven times more than a Lithium-Ion battery. The SLB will not burn or rupture which makes it safer.
